How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
To make sure that all of media products had a recurring and professional theme throughout we made a conscious effort to use the same colours, fonts, texts, titles and images across all media texts. In order to ensure that our products looked professional, we revised professional brands like Empire to make sure that we got the best finishing look. We revised how the photos were shot, how they were positioned and most importantly how they were edited in a professional way. The images used on these media products are all linked into the trailer and theme of our trailer. We didn't want to use a random image that has nothing to do with our media texts as otherwise it wouldn't make any sense to our target audience. We wanted to use something that was going to create a unique and distinctive brand for all three products. This helps to create a strong brand and therefore, the products will be popular because of how recognisable they are going to be. We took into consideration that a successful brands ned to include, props, setting and logo. All of the following are what is key to make a successful brand and iconic images.
Overall, we think that that the merge of our main products and ancillary text is effective because we've used the same theme, text and images throughout all media products, however, these were used in different platform and styles. The image where Morgen is holding the doll which is featured in the trailer, however, the pose in the poster is completely different to the pose magazine cover because the image is a full body shot and not a profile shot. We used the name Maya because it is the name of the doll within the trailer. We used the tagline; 'she will kill you and will find you' to try and threaten anyone who watches the trailer, this is mostly aimed at our target audience. We have also decided to add the puzzles because it shows synergy between all media texts.
